On Saturday (21st Sept) members of the CiB Creative arts group, set up stalls in Sheep Street Bicester, joining other stalls as part of the Bicester Festival weekend. With a selection of works of art for sale, raising funds for a local charity and the groups community projects; and a teabag workshop, the day was good demonstration of art in mission, engaging our local community through art, providing the opportunity for some great conversations.
Art has the capacity to draw people in dialogue, to discuss their beliefs. their ideas in a way that is some how non-threatening and not preaching. As people were drawn in to look at the art on display, standing around and joining in the workshop, the logical defences that people raise against the gospels and church, melted away and we all found ourselves talking about our God.
